Independent Patient Choice and Procurement Panel Review of a proposed contract award: All Age Continuing Care (AACC) Service for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent This review considered the following matters:

Same day urgent care unit services at Aintree Hospital site The panel’s recommendation was that the procurement of services at a Same Day Urgent Care Unit in Liverpool should be abandoned and restarted, due to a number of failings in the process – involving errors in evaluation, unequal treatment and a failure to document decisions.

The first report by the Independent Patient Choice and Procurement Panel has now been published. They were asked to review a contract award decision for ADHD services. Their advice to the commissioner is that it should abandon its procurement process as a contract award would breach NHS procurement rules (the Provider Selection Regime regulations).
